Winter Sports Recap

The NCSSM–Morganton winter athletic teams recently completed a strong season. The standout performance was Max Vaughan capturing the Indoor Track 3200 State Championship, while both the men’s and women’s basketball teams made program history by qualifying for the State Playoffs for the first time. Indoor track, swimming, and cheer also delivered impressive results at their respective state competitions, highlighted by the women’s indoor track team finishing as the top 1A program in the 1A/2A State Championship and the men’s swimming team placing 2nd among 1A schools at the 1A/2A/3A State Championship. - Max Vaughan captured the Indoor Track 3200 State Championship - Women’s Indoor Track finished T-9th in the 1A/2A State Championship - finishing as the top 1A program in the field. - Men’s Indoor Track finished T-8th overall, ranking as the 5th highest 1A team. - Men’s and Women’s Basketball both made program history, qualifying for the State Playoffs for the first time. - Cheerleading performed well at the All Day Cheer High School Event earning medals and a Varsity Division team banner - Women’s Swimming placed 23rd at the 1A/2A/3A State Championship - 4th among 1A schools. - Men’s Swimming placed 19th overall - 2nd among 1A schools.
